There’s nothing like coming to a storage locker auction in Mississauga fully prepared. As they say, preparation is half the battle! We agree wholeheartedly. That’s why we’ve prepared this checklist for you. Keep it handy where you can easily find it, and win the storage locker!

  • Comfortable clothes: You will be out in the sun for most of the day, so don’t forget to bring a hat and comfortable shoes! When you win your locker, you’ll need to be prepared to start cleaning up and throwing away the things that you don’t want. Your clothes will be dirty.
  • Photo ID: Most auctions require you to register before you can bid. Often, you need to provide photo ID for them to verify your identity.
  • Flashlight: Some storage lockers may not have good lighting. A good flashlight can help you see the items in the locker better.
  • Cash: There is usually a cash deposit required when you win your locker. The deposit will be returned back to you when all your items from the locker are removed. Some auctions may also only accept cash. You’ll want to bring enough cash to bid for a locker, because you won’t have the opportunity to visit an ATM machine when you win your bid.
  • Debit/credit card: Other auctions may accept debit or credit card. Take a look at the listing beforehand, or contact the auctioneer for more information.
  • Padlocks: If you’re planning to bid for more than one locker, bring multiple padlocks. You can lock up your locker after you win the bid, and visit other lockers for sell. It can also take you more than a day to remove the items in the locker you purchased. Bring a padlock to lock up the storage unit.
  • Gloves: You may be lifting heavy items or objects covered in dirt and dust.
  • Garbage bags: Most likely you’ll be throwing quite a few things from the locker you just won. Bring some garbage bags to help you organize the storage locker items.
  • Moving vehicle: You may want to remove all the items in the storage locker on the day of.
